Happy 8th Birthday

Birthdays are marked by time. They invite us to reflect on where we’ve been and to look ahead with anticipation for what is to come. This week marks eight years since we opened the doors to our first location in Carmel.

As we celebrate eight years, it is the people—at the farms, the team at ICR, and the community members who drink our coffee—who make the difference. The world keeps spinning, yet coffee remains a constant: a simple, meaningful way we connect, share, and slow down together.

As we celebrate eight years, a thank you to all who have contributed to Indie Coffee Roasters. The roasters, managers, baristas, marketers, and summer team members made a difference. Whenever you move on from ICR, your service made ICR better and added to what we are today.

As we celebrate eight years, there have been countless interactions at the register with regulars and first-time guests alike. What may seem like small, transactional moments have become the foundation of Indie Coffee Roasters, sustaining us for eight years and growing into friendships that extend beyond the walls of the coffee shop.

As we celebrate eight years, I realize people are as complex as coffee. While they may appear similar at first, it’s the journey, growth, and conditions behind each cup—and each person—that create something memorable. Thank you for sharing that with us.
