Its journey crosses borders and generations: a varietal developed over 90 years ago, a producer investing in the future through meticulous processing, import logisticians who shepherd every detail, and the connections that make it possible for a rare coffee to travel halfway around the world and land in your hands.

The Origin Story: 

The seeds of this coffee’s quality were planted long ago. SL28 is an Arabica varietal developed in the 1930s by Scott Agricultural Laboratories in Kenya. Originally studied for drought resistance, it has become celebrated for its exceptional cup qualities—juicy, complex, with bright acidity and a clean, lingering finish. Over the decades, SL28 has been carefully cultivated by specialty growers across the world, making it an heirloom-quality coffee that expresses both its terroir and a rich lineage. Its journey from experimental varietal to worldwide prized specialty coffee highlights generations of agricultural innovation and investment. 

The Hands of Mastery: 

The journey continues with the producer, U Ye Mint, who is ushering in the future of specialty coffee through meticulous and innovative processing. Renowned as the top processor of the country, his work elevates the natural potential of the bean, using precise, controlled methods that enhance complexity and clarity in the cup. This level of dedication is what transforms a good harvest into an exceptional one.
