Job Description

The Production Team Member and Roaster will assist in the production responsibilities of a growing specialty coffee roasting company, from the intake of green coffee to the finished bag of roasted beans. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, exhibits strong organization skills, demonstrates a continued pursuit of professional and personal growth, and possesses a servant-leadership work ethic. This position requires a detail-oriented mindset paired with flexibility, problem-solving skills, and the ability to value people alongside tasks. Previous experience in coffee is preferred.

The Production Team Member and Roaster will report to the Coffee Manager and our passionate Coffee Department Team. 

Hours

  • 28.5 hours / 36 hours alternating. If looking for additional hours, supplemental barista hours in our cafes can be discussed.
  • Anticipated schedule: Monday-Wednesday 7:30 AM-3:30 PM / Thursday 8:00 AM-2:30 PM/ Friday (Every Other) 7:30 AM-3:30 PM

Responsibilities:

Roasting & Quality

  • Production roast according to established profiles and quality standards.
  • Participate in weekly team cuppings.
  • Assist with quality control and consistency
  • Roast coffee to match profiles consistently
  • Participate in quality control cupping and roast profile development
  • Engage in continued coffee roasting and brewing skill development

Packaging and Cold Brew

  • Complete scheduled cold brew batches.
  • Assist with cold brew production, cleaning, and organization.
  • Complete monthly cold brew deep cleaning.
  • Pack and prepare weekly wholesale, retail, subscription, and online orders efficiently and accurately

Deliveries

  • Complete deliveries to wholesale partners and support cafe delivery needs.
  • Complete scheduled Post Office drop-offs.
  • Ensure orders are accurate and delivered on time.
  • Provide friendly, professional service to partners.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Complete weekly cleaning tasks, including monthly roaster cleaning and keg cleaning as scheduled.
  • Conduct roaster machine cleaning and maintenance.
  • Deep clean designated equipment and areas of the roastery on a rotating basis.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.

Training & Equipment

  • Complete company-provided forklift training and certification.
  • Safely operate the forklift after certification to receive, move, and organize pallets of coffee and production materials.
