Tasting Notes: Mandarin Orange | Buttercream | Dried Mango
The flavor of the Nuevo Trujillo is just as fun as the name. Super sweet mandarin orange acidity is the star of the show. With a hint of dried mango and a creamy aftertaste, this coffee is so insanely refreshing, you’ll probably want to drink it cold most of the time.
Owned and operated by President Gonzalo Guevara and General Manager Ismael Alarcon and in business since 2017, this group is called Santuario and oversees over 400 smallholders producers and producer groups. Their motivation is to benefit the farmers, providing them with the resources they need to improve their coffee output, their farms, their communities, and the lives of their families and employees. This group unites the smallholder farmers from the northern Peru Cajamarca region where an ecologically diverse environment produces exceptional coffee.
The washed process is one of the most common processing methods. Freshly harvested coffee is sorted for ripeness and the fruit and pulp is removed from the beans within the first 24 hours after harvest for drying.
